If you’re expecting:

Advocacy Coaching:

Advocacy coaching that focuses on practical skills that expectant parents can use to feel empowered and supported throughout the childbirth process. Healthcare is a complex system that can feel intimidating, having simple practices in place to rely on can diminish the fear of the unknown.

What you’ll learn:
✓ What questions should I ask my provider?

✓ How can I advocate for my birth preferences?

✓ What should I do if I feel dismissed?

✓ What is informed consent anyway?

The focus of our advocacy coaching is not adversarial. We believe that the most important relationship necessary for a positive birth experience is the one between the patient and the provider. We seek to offer guidance for expectant parents to ensure they feel confident and in control of their birth experience while fostering a strong relationship with their provider.

Pregnancy and Birth Legal Education:

You have several legal rights when giving birth in the United States but they are not guaranteed. Mistreatment or violations of these rights occur far too often. We offer consultations not only on what legal rights you have but how to advocate for yourself for the best chance that these rights are honored and respected. We also offer consultation on the options that you may have if your legal rights are violated.

What you’ll learn:
✓ What are fundamental birth rights?

✓ How can I advocate for them?

✓ My Doctor refused to put something in my chart. What should I do?

✓ How can I file a complaint with the medical board?

✓ How do I request my medical records?

Employment:

Whether you’re newly pregnant and nervous to tell your employer or you’re a nursing mother, we offer consultations and guidance on best practices when handling these conversations with your employer.

What you’ll learn:
✓ When should I tell my employer I’m pregnant?

✓ What rights do I have as a nursing mother?

✓ Should my notice be written?

✓ What should my notice say?
